Since Cape May HideAway is only 8 blocks from Philadelphia Ave beach, we spend most of our beach time there. This beach has restroom facilities which are surprisingly clean. For those of you who have used restrooms at other beach towns, you will appreciate the effort Cape May makes to maintain their public restrooms. In addition, we have a beach box at this beach. What is a beach box? It is a storage unit where you can store beach chairs, beach umbrellas, beach toys and anything else you will use the next day and not need it back at the house. It makes biking or walking to and from the beach a breeze. The box is available from Memorial Day until a week or two after Labor Day. Philadelphia Beach is a guarded beach from Memorial Day until Labor Day. It is quite comfortable and is large enough for everyone to have adequate space for their privacy and the ability to spread out and do what you want to do. If you don’t feel like packing snacks or drinks, a food truck is normally set up at the entrance of this beach during prime season. The vendor offers various types of lunch type food, ice cream, snacks and drinks. In all honesty, we have never patronized the food truck vendor so I cannot comment on the quality of the food they offer. The beach is so close to Cape May HideAway, it is easy to take drinks and snacks with us and we either bike or walk back to the house for lunch.
